What's This All About?

The ketogenic lifestyle is all about eating real food and healthy fats. It is a way of eating beneficial to almost anyone, especially those who are insulin resistant. It allows you to feel satiated and not deprived. It allows the freedom from feeling hungry and wanting to eat all the time. It is made up of high fat, moderate protein and low carb foods The body learns to burn fat for its fuel, which is preferred, rather than glucose.

Who can do this?

Almost anyone can benefit. It’s making the choice and the commitment to be healthy. Although the studies are particularly focused on adults, the earlier studies were on kids with epilepsy, as this was a primary treatment before modern day seizure medicine.

In your own kitchen, adapted to your lifestyle and your time schedule. Most people think eating keto can be too time consuming, especially in todays fast food, immediate gratification world. But I promise you that making healthy keto meals can be a lot quicker than you think and there’s a substitute for just about anything.

Why Should You Do This?

Because your health is important! You will be able to maintain a healthy weight, feel happy, have energy and think clearly. It decreases inflammation and prevents many disorders of the body by keeping insulin at healthy levels. The ketogenic diet has been used to improve cardiovascular disease, diabetes, migraines, autoimmune disorders, chronic pain, epilepsy, gut issues, fertility problems and even cancer.

Why not continue to eat sugar and grains?

Sugar is inflammatory and raises insulin levels causing many problems for the body such as weight gain, damaging cells and causing disease. Grains, when broken down, turn to sugar and can cause the same problems.

 

How Do You Do This?

Eat REAL food. Avoid processed foods, sugar and grains. Increase your healthy fats.  The liver breaks down fat and turns it into ketones for fuel. This is known as ketosis. Follow my steps below to getting started. It’s easier than you think.
